The New Testament has many "one another / each other" verses that share the heart of Jesus and God the Father concerning our relationships with one another:
- Love one another - You are my disciples, if you love one another - Love each other as I have loved you - You have been taught by God to love each other - The love every one of you has for each other is increasing - Love one another deeply, from the heart - If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us [1]
- Be and live at peace with each other [2]
- Try to be kind to each other [2]
- Be devoted to one another in brotherly love [3]
- Honor one another above yourselves [3]
- Live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble [4]
- Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [5]
- Stop passing judgment on one another [6]
- Do not slander one another [7]
- Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged [8]
- You yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another - Teach and admonish one another with all wisdom [9]
- Greet one another with a holy kiss - Greet one another with a kiss of love [10]
- Agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought [11]
- When you come together to eat, wait for each other [12]
- Have equal concern for each other [13]
- Serve one another in love [14]
- Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other [15]
- Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love [16]
- Do not lie to each other [17]
- Be kind and compassionate to one another [18]
- Forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you - Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another [18]
- Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. [19]
- Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ [20]
- Spur one another on toward love and good deeds [21]
- Encourage one another - Build each other up - Encourage one another daily [22]
- Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed [23]
- Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling [24]
- Fellowship with one another [25]
We truly need one another's encouragement in order to fulfill the purposes, love, and heart of Christ. These "one another / each other" commands need to be our desire. We can only accomplish these commands by our own heart being forgiven, cleansed, reborn, filled with the Holy Spirit, and guided by the Holy Spirit. May the Lord help us to fulfill his heart's desires in our relationships with one another!
